Plenum Quilt Review

Plenum Quilt review by Skirt Fixation

Recently I got to play with some super fun fabrics from Art Gallery Fabrics.  They have put together some fabrics into combinations called Color Master boxes.  They come in super cute little boxes of either fat quarter or half yard cuts of each fabric.  Before Quilt market, Art Gallery Fabrics asked me if I would put together two Plenum quilts for them using the color master boxes for them to display at the market.  Since it was a quick turn around time, and I don’t have a long arm quilter, I just pieced the tops for them, and they quilted the finished quilt.

The first color master box I worked with was the fat quarter No. 5 Gold Leaf Edition.  I used the free Plenum quilt pattern from Art Gallery Fabrics.  You can also buy this fabric combination as a quilt kit.   It makes a 55″ x 64″ quilt, about single size.

The other color master box I used is the No. 8 Teal Thoughts Edition.  Again, I used the Plenum quilt pattern to create this quilt top.   This can also be purchased as the whole kit.  The fat quarter box makes a 55″ x 64″ quilt, and the half yard box makes a 64″ x 73″ size quilt.

The Plenum quilt tops went together quite quickly.  The instructions were perfect, and I can recommend them to you with confidence that you’ll be able to make a perfect top too.

Here is a picture I grabbed a screen shot from the quilted I pieced hanging up at the Quilt Market Display!

In return for piecing these tops for Art Gallery, they thanked me with 2 Color Master boxes of my choice!  After a lot of indecision, the girls and I chose Color Master No. 1, Vibrant Violet.  We are making matching quilts for their room.  When we have them quilted, we’ll share them in another post.

Vibrant Violet can also be purchased as a Plenum quilt kit.  It’s amazing to be able to purchase everything you need to make the quilt (batting excluded, I think!)

What color master box is your favorite?  Which one would you have chosen?
