The next skirt for All The Skirts: Simple Life Pattern Company & Phat Quarters is the Polly Skirt.  The Polly Skirt is a drop waist skirt with some special features.

The Polly Skirt can be made in 9 sizes from 2T to size 12.  It has an elastic waist, a drop yoke, either band or ruffle trim and the skirt can be either paneled or simple.  We made the paneled skirt with ruffle trim in a size 12.  Instructions are also given for lengthening or shortening the skirt as desired.

The Polly Skirt pattern has photo illustrations for every step.  This pattern is graded as a beginner pattern, and we think this skirt would be a very rewarding sew for a beginning seamstress.  Woven fabrics are recommended for this pattern.

There are no pattern pieces to print for the Polly Skirt.  This cuts down on the amount of time required to sew it.  Indeed, this is a fast and easy sew, you could whip up one or two in an afternoon!

One really neat thing about this pattern is the hemming is not saved for the last step.  I always appreciate that on a pattern, do you?

The paneled skirt option is supposed to have 10 panels.  But due to the nature of the fabric we used, we ended up with less panels because the main fabric we used already looks paneled.  So we weren’t about to cut it up and sew it back together.

This fabric is designed by some of our favorite seamstress from Simple Simon & Co.  We’ve worked with the black and the teal color ways before.  This gray color way just may be our favorite, though.  We may be biased because the fabric was a gift from Elizabeth and liZ, however, but probably not!  This fabric is produced by Riley Blake Designs.

Annie styled this skirt with her new favorite shirt, the Camden Raglan from Hey June Handmade.
