Oliver+S Swingset Skirt & Tunic sewn by Skirt Fixation using Petal & Plume Fabrics from Fat Quarter Shop

Oliver+S Swingset Skirt & Tunic sewn by Skirt Fixation using Petal & Plume Fabrics from Fat Quarter ShopThe Swing Set Skirt and Tunic pattern by Oliver+S currently tops out at size 5, so we were in a hurry to make this pattern for Annie.  Because the Swing Set pattern is too cute not to sew.  As with all Oliver+S patterns, it’s the details that make the difference.  We’ll start with the details on the Swing Set Skirt.Oliver+S Swingset Skirt & Tunic sewn by Skirt Fixation using Petal & Plume Fabrics from Fat Quarter ShopThe Swing Set skirt  is a sweet little thing.  With three rows of casings at the top and a coordinating drawstring, it shines!  This little skirt is completely lined, and that allows for some cute little variations. Oliver+S Swingset Skirt & Tunic sewn by Skirt Fixation using Petal & Plume Fabrics from Fat Quarter ShopWe opted to make the linings approximately the same length as the overskirt for two reasons.  1: We love the little snatches of aqua that peek out from under the skirt.  2:  It makes the skirt reversible!  This adds versatility to a little girl’s wardrobe with less sewing for her mom! Oliver+S Swingset Skirt & Tunic sewn by Skirt Fixation using Petal & Plume Fabrics from Fat Quarter ShopWe’ve seen so many cute versions of the Swing Set Skirt pattern.  Right now Annie’s size is 5 around by 8 or 10 length in Oliver+S patterns, so we lengthened the skirt by about 3 inches for her.  Oliver+S Swingset Skirt & Tunic sewn by Skirt Fixation using Petal & Plume Fabrics from Fat Quarter ShopThe Swing Set tunic also has very cute details.  A curved yoke presented us with the perfect opportunity to fussy cut a peacock onto the front! Oliver+S Swingset Skirt & Tunic sewn by Skirt Fixation using Petal & Plume Fabrics from Fat Quarter ShopThe sweet little button up back  lets buttons take front and center stage.  The spaghetti straps keep a girl cool in the summer, or don’t add bulk when layering.Oliver+S Swingset Skirt & Tunic sewn by Skirt Fixation using Petal & Plume Fabrics from Fat Quarter ShopWe layered the Swing Set tunic with the Sailboat Top as the mornings and evening are still chilly.  The curved yokes on both tops echo each other beautifully!  Oliver+S Swingset Skirt & Tunic sewn by Skirt Fixation using Petal & Plume Fabrics from Fat Quarter ShopThe beautiful fabric we used to sew up the Swing Set Skirt and Tunic is from the Petal and Plume line of fabric by Bari J.  Of course we got it from Fat Quarter Shop because we love their straight cuts of fabric, their fast shipping and most of all, their friendly customer service!  Oliver+S Swingset Skirt & Tunic sewn by Skirt Fixation using Petal & Plume Fabrics from Fat Quarter ShopWe now have sewn 8 of the 11 Oliver+S patterns using fabric from Fat Quarter Shop!  That means we are nearing the end of All The Skirts: Oliver+S & Fat Quarter Shop.  But there is still time for you to join in this edition of All The Skirts.
