This post has so many great things in it, I hardly know where to start! First of all, I made myself another Jocole Peplum Top. Not new news! You can read my review of the other two I made here. The thing that’s unique about this Jocole Peplum Top is that I used Art Gallery Fabric Solid Knit fabric. And that is what makes the difference! Soft, no pilling, wearable. I love Art Gallery Knit fabrics! To be completely accurate, all the fabric in these photos is manufactured by Art Gallery Fabrics. And all the prints are from Bari J’s Petal and Plume line of fabric. (Yeah, I use it a lot…it’s my favorite!)You can read more about Annie’s skirt, the Oliver+S Sunday Brunch jacket and skirt, here in this blog post. Annie’s top is reviewed in this blog post about the Oliver+S Swing Set Top and Skirt. Annie’s Aster cardigan is made from Art Gallery Fabrics solid knit fabric from Imagine Gnats. You can see our full review of it in this blog post. Then there is my Gabriola Skirt. Oh, the Gabriola Skirt, how I love it! This is my second Gabriola, you can see my review of the pattern here. This one is made from Art Gallery Fabric’s cotton voile from Fabric Depot. If you’ve never experienced cotton voile, you need to! It’s light and airy, perfect for summer. The only difference between this Gabriola Skirt and the last one I made is that this one is lined (to the knee only) to take into account the semi-sheer factor of the voile. A perfect skirt for summer. And indeed, this is part of my self care sewing for the Summer Capsule Wardrobe event. So why the photos with Annie and I together? There are two reasons behind this. 1: I dislike standing in front of the camera. Intensely. So of course the results look strained. So in my attempt to feel and look more natural, I decided to add a child to the mix. As a mother of 7 children, this is normal! And I think I look a little more relaxed, what do you think? Reason #2: The second reason is probably the more accurate reason; Art Gallery Fabrics is giving away 50 yards of fabric to TWO winners. The requirement is simply a photo showing what you do with Art Gallery Fabrics. Because when 50 yards of free fabric are up for grabs, I will most likely go to any lengths for a chance to win!! 6 different Art Gallery Fabrics are represented here, and we seriously love Art Gallery Fabrics. And Oliver+S patterns. And Jocole Peplum Tops. But I still would prefer to be behind the camera…
