Today we get to introduce to you some of the nicest people in the world!  These are the generous men and women who have generously agreed to sponsor Challenge Create: Adult Edition.  That means these great people and companies donated the incredible prizes the winners are going to receive!  And if you’ve been wondering, there are prizes for Champion Seamstress, 1st runner up, 2nd runner up, and 3rd runner up.  Yep, no one sews without a reward!  And also there is a weekly prize for the Sew Along winner!  Talk about generosity from the sewing community!  In fact, in the course of organizing Challenge Create: Adult Edition, we have discovered just how generous and open this great community is.  The positive, supportive response has been so great, that at times we’ve almost been in tears!  There has been so much support that we’ve decided to split the sponsors post into two parts!  You get to meet some of the sponsors now, and the rest when Challenge Create: Adult Edition is over.  We want you to know that all links open a new window, so you can visit everyone, and there are NO affiliate links.  We just want you to meet these awesome people!  So without further ado, here is the first post about the Challenge Create: Adult Edition sponsors.

Simple Simon & Co.We want to start with the sponsor that we feel best illustrates the kindness and big- heartedness of the sewing community.  Simple Simon & Co. is run by Elizabeth and liZ, to friends who married brothers.  If the names and company are ringing a bell, it’s because these are the hosts of the VERY popular sewing competitions Project Run & Play and Project Sewn  These gracious ladies, both named Elizabeth, married brothers!  liZ, started sewing after spending the majority of her life fighting against doing anything domestic so it’s a wonder she ended up becoming a stay at home mom with a passion for sewing (and who happens to be loving every minute of it!)  Elizabeth, stopped sewing for a period of time in her life, but began sewing again about 8 years ago after her daughter, Hannie was born, and has never looked back. Sewing has taught her that it is never too late to learn a new skill.  She loves sewing vintage patterns, especially children’s, and is always trying to sew through the stash, and for every 5 projects that she is working on, there are always a couple of craft fails involved, some of which are real doozies!  Maybe we’ll see her in the sew-along group, especially on week 4 for the Destash Theme!  Simple Simon & Co. is donating a basket of their favorite sewing supplies to one lucky winner, and with seamstresses of this caliber, you can be assured that it’s a prize worth competing for!  Please connect with this awesome duo in one of the following ways, and thank them for being a sponsor for Challenge Create: Adult Edition!  Find them on Google+YouTubeFacebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.  And visit their blog where they blog about all the Art of Homemaking, post helpful tutorials, and their latest sewing projects.  You’ll probably want to follow them, like we do!

Laura Marsh DesignsOur next sponsor is Laura Marsh Designs.  Laura Marsh produces the patterns herself, by hand, from my home.   When her daughter was born, she was able to pursue her passion for art and design, and having the extra time as a house wife enabled her to start exploring her creative side again.  As well as making to sell, over the last 10 years she has travelled from the sewing side of dressmaking and spending more time pattern making.  More recently Laura’s pattern drafting skills have been used for commercial ventures other than her website, including some of the patterns for Bison Bushcraft’s range of outer wear as well as features in Sewing World Magazine. One really awesome feature over at Laura Marsh Designs is the basic pattern blocks which are exactly that, the perfect, basic starting point that you can personalize to your heart’s content!

Basic Pattern BlocksGo check out Laura Marsh Designs and don’t be intimidated by the UK sizes, Laura has handy size information in inches for those of us on this side of the pond!  And watch for a special offer code during the month of April just for Challenge Create: Adult Edition customers!

Fat Quarter Shop CertificateThe Fat Quarter Shop is sponsoring Challenge Create: Adult Edition also.  The Fat Quarter Shop was founded in 2003 by Kimberly Jolly. An avid quilter, Kimberly began her shop as a side business while still working a corporate position, cutting, packing and shipping right out of her house during evenings and weekends. From the very beginning, she was committed to delivering top-notch service for every single order and customer. As the Fat Quarter Shop’s reputation grew, Kimberly decided to make it a full-time operation. Her husband Kevin joined her not long after, and with his help, lots of hard work, and a tireless commitment, the store began to grow. Over the past few years a few more people have joined the staff!  As a team, they continue to branch out with the best fabrics, exclusive kits, quilt clubs, BOMs, and more. And they are still driven by the passion that Kimberly founded the store upon, which is always giving you the best products and service!  Everyone needs to pause right now, and click over to The Fat Quarter Shop and start browsing!  They have lots of great fabrics that will inspire you for the Nature Inspired Theme, like their new April Showers fabrics!  Be sure to connect with them on Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Flickr.

A Fashionable StitchSunni from A Fashionable Stitch is a really awesome lady.  She is a geek/nerd (her own words!) about sewing her own clothes. She owns an online shop and also blogs about her sewing adventures, thoughts and feelings and everything sewing related. She has admitted to a deep and dark obsession with fabric and tries to work it around her  broad shouldered, long torso-ed real life body.  She always had dreams of having her own little business and being a “proprietress.”  She started selling on Etsy in 2008 and at that point  was selling aprons and crafty items. After a year or so, she found that sewing aprons was not her true calling and so closed the Etsy shop for awhile. One night, just before falling asleep, she had the idea to open a shop dedicated to hard to find sewing tools and supplies. She started by selling her very own handmade tailor’s hams and seams rolls – and they were a sensation! Having found her true passion – selling items that dealt with garment construction – everything clicked.  She moved from Etsy to her own store site in May/June-ish of 2011 and stocks so many supplies that every sewer can use. If you Hop on over and take a look you’ll find something you can use too!  We sure did!  Be sure to connect with her on Facebook  and Vimeo.

Now aren’t you impressed with the generosity of the sewing community too?!  There are also prizes from The Ribbon Retreat, Lolita Patterns,  TipTopFit Etsy shop, Sew Squirrel, Shop Onion, and more!  We’ll feature them in depth after Challenge Create: Adult Edition comes to a close, but you can click through now to thank them for being a sponsor too.  You’ll also be seeing and hearing more about all the sponsors before, during and after Challenge Create: Adult Edition!

Make it beautiful,
